British YouTuber Miles Routledge faces backlash for racist comments and a “joke” about launching nuclear bombs on India, further fueled by mocking the Indian accent on social media.
British YouTuber Miles Routledge, who gained notoriety after being stranded in Afghanistan during the Taliban takeover, is now facing severe backlash for making racist comments targeting Indians.
The controversy erupted when Routledge shared a meme on X (formerly Twitter) that depicted a global nuclear war, accompanied by a so-called “joke” about launching missiles against India. His inflammatory remarks have sparked widespread outrage on social media.
YouTuber Miles Routledge
Routledge, known as “Lord Miles,” is a British YouTuber with over 126,000 subscribers. He first gained fame in 2021 after being stranded in Afghanistan during the Taliban’s takeover. Routledge, often labeled a “danger tourist,” ventured into Afghanistan when it was listed as one of the most dangerous countries to visit. Despite the chaos, he claimed to have “befriended” both the Taliban and NATO forces, sharing his experiences online. In 2023, on his third visit, Routledge was detained by Taliban intelligence for eight months, an experience he described as his “most enjoyable holiday” due to the connections he made with Taliban leaders.
In 2024, Routledge sparked further controversy with racist comments targeting India and Africa. His remarks, including a “joke” about nuclear war, have drawn widespread condemnation. Recently, he shared a threatening message from an unknown user who vowed to find him and force him to issue a public apology. In response, Routledge accepted the message request and boldly shared his detailed address. This incident has further fueled the backlash against him, as critics continue to denounce his inflammatory behavior.
Adding to the controversy, he also mocked the Indian accent in a post, writing, “Saar okay lord saar good luck saar haha saar.”
After sharing the post, he also responded to comments from a now-unavailable troll account.
“Saar I will see you soon saar,” Routledge replied to the troll’s comments.
In another response, Routledge wrote: “Saar your mum after I do my shift at Uber screams that at night btw saar, please saar, harder saar, I spit on the bitch and all she says is thaank sou saar. I don’t shower saar and women don’t talk to me saar. I work at Tim Hortons saar.”
He received threatening DMs from the troll, assumed to be Indian, and responded with racist remarks. He then shared a screenshot of their conversation.
“Indian threatens to find me, it backfires lmao,” he wrote, captioning the screenshot. The image also included the YouTuber’s location and a description of his clothes as he challenged the troll to come find him. Since then, the post has garnered over 5 million views.
This isn’t the first time Routledge has made such inflammatory remarks. Earlier this month, he tweeted about his wish to reincarnate as a virus to “solve the overpopulation” issue in India.
