Julian Richard Morley Sands was born on 4 Jan 1958 and died in Jan 2023. Sands was an English actor. He was best known for starring as the character “George Emerson” in the play “A Room with a View” (1985). His major films include The Killing Fields (1984), Warlock (1989), Arachnophobia (1990), Naked Lunch (1991), Boxing Helena (1993), Leaving Las Vegas (1995), The Medallion (2003), etc. Are included. He was born on 4 January 1958 in Otley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Livelihood
Sands played supporting roles early in his film career. He played a role in the films Oxford Blues (1984) and The Killing Fields (1984). In 1984 (in the BBC adaptation of The Box of Delights) he had a small role as a Greek soldier. He acted as the romantic lead in the film “A Room with a View”. After the success of the films, Sands considered moving to Hollywood and pursuing a career in American films.
Sands played one of the leading roles in the horror film. Warlock (1989) and its sequels Warlock: The Armageddon (1993), Impromptu (1991), Naked Lunch (1991), Arachnophobia (1990), Boxing Helena (1993), and Leaving Las Vegas (1995). Sands played various characters Franz Liszt, Yves Cloquet, Eric aka the Phantom, and college professor Laurence Olivier.
Sands played the character of “Jor-El”, Superman’s father. For his dramatic performance, he was nominated for “Outstanding Solo Performance” at the 58th Annual Drama Desk Awards (2013). In 2011, Sands starred in the mystery thriller film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. In the English-language remake, Sands played the character of a young “Heinrich Wenger”.
Personal life
In 1984, Sands married Sarah Harvey. She was a British journalist and author. Both of them had a son. 22 September 1990, Sands married Evgenia Sitkowitz, She is an American playwright, author, and journalist. He had two daughters. Sands was protective of his family. Sands’ family lived in Los Angeles, California.
Death
On January 13, 2023, Sands went hiking at Mount Baldy, California, in the San Gabriel Mountains or the east of Los Angeles, a week after his 65th birthday. sands disappeared from the hiking trail. The investigation into Sands’ disappearance was hampered by severe storms that followed. His car was found on 18 January. The Sands’ children set out to search for their father. Their Mobile phone was tracked with a ping.
Pursuit
It is believed that at the time of her disappearance, Julian Richard Morley Sands was hiking the Baldy Bowl Trail. “Evidence of avalanches” was found in this area. Search and rescue members descended into remote areas of Mount Baldy to search for Sands. On June 24, some hikers walking past where Sands had disappeared found some human remains in the area where Sands had disappeared. On 27 June 2023, those human remains were identified as those of Sands.
