12th Fail is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical movie directed, produced, and written by Vidhi Vinod Chopra. It is based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian police officer. The film stars Vikrant Massey as manoj kumar Sharma, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Sharma, Anshuman Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chaterji.

Released theatrically on 27 October 2023, 12th Fail received critical acclaim and emerged as a hit, grossing over ₹66.58 crore (US$8.3 million) worldwide on a ₹20 crore (US$2.5 million) budget. At the Film Fare Award 2024, it won five awards, including the Best Director, Best Movie, and Best Actor in the Critics category(Massey).

Storyline and plot of the movie:
12th Fail is an Indian Hindi language biographical drama film it is based on a boy named Manoj Kumar Sharma who is a boy that belongs to a middle class family from a village called Chambal, his father is a govt. servent and does all his guts to make him pass class 12th afterward, his grandmother first sends him to Munare and then to Delhi for job preparation and gives him her pension money to send him and do well in his studies without any discomfort but he his destiny planned something big for him when he sat into the bus and leaves his village someone steals his baggage and he become hopeless for some days after that he tries to find jon in the city but unable to get them then after some time he meets a rich guy that helps him to get food, shelter and fees etc, they also meet a guy who owns a tea stall and motivates all of them to crack the job Manoj was unable to crack it in 2-3 attempts but then he choose to crack IPS and then cracks it with all his guts, during his prepration time manoj also finds a girl named Shraddha Joshi who is a true guide and motivator as well. she also cracked IRS with AIR 121 and after her manoj also cracked his IPS exam and then eventully both of them got married.
idea and theme of the movie: the movie is a true inspiration for all the civil service as well as govrmnent exam aspirants , it truely showcases the roller coaster ride of an aspirant.
