As we all know IPL fever is going on in the Nation, the most recent match, Match No. 7 was on 26 March 2024. between CSK (Chennai Super Kings) and GT (Gujarat Titans), wherein CSK won the match by 63 Runs! and won their 2nd match of the IPL tournament undefeated till now.
Chennai Super Kings maintained their winning streak in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they defeated Gujarat Titans by 63 runs in the tournament on Tuesday in the CSk’s home ground; Chennai.
CSK vs GT: match highlights
Firstly, Gujarat Titans won the toss and chose to bowl first at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai against the five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings. The youngster, Rachin Ravindra began his innings on a positive note as he got boundaries regularly in the powerplay.
Racing towards the 40s he looked to continue his aggressive approach which led to a fine stumping from the GT keeper, Wriddhiman Saha to give the visitors their first breakthrough.
Rahane was struggling for most of his time in the middle but the skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain) was able to pick up the pace and keep the scoreboard ticking for the home side. Rahane was dismissed by the Tamil Nadu-based spinner, R Sai Kishore with another stumping by Saha.
Ruturaj nearing the 40s, was also dismissed with an edge off the keeper, courtesy of a short delivery by Spencer Johnson. But Shivam Dube was able to get going right away as he hit consecutive sixes to begin his innings. He kept up the pace to the final few overs as well, regularly attacking the bowlers.
Shivam Dube brought up his fifty in really quick time but was dismissed by Rashid Khan as he looked to go big in the death overs.
But Sameer Rizvi managed to make a statement on his first instance batting in yellow scoring two maximums off the first three deliveries. He was out by Mohit Sharma in the next over as CSK went on to set a target of 207 runs.
